The Mountain Traveller’s Handbook is endorsed by the United Nations’ International Year of Mountains, as well as the International Porter Protection Group and the Access & Conservation Trust.

The book includes advice from more than 30 well-known mountaineers, guides, doctors, photographers, travel writers, filmmakers and outdoor experts.

They include Sir Chris Bonington, Dr Charles Clarke, Peter Hillary, Harish Kapadia, Tim Macartney-Snape, Mark Twight, and Stephen Venables.

Proceeds from the book are directed towards the BMC’s access and conservation programmes. Paul donates 1% of his book royalties to the late Sir Edmund Hillary’s Himalayan Trust.
