Paul was one of 10 finalists in the BBC’s nationwide search for new television experts, which attracted 2500 applicants.
Paul has also been interviewed on more than 50 radio programmes. In 1999, Paul was interviewed live by satellite from the Pamir mountains on two occasions by James Naughtie for Radio 4’s flagship programme, ‘Today’. He has also been interviewed on BBC Radio 4’s ‘PM’ and ‘Midweek’ programmes, and on BBC Radio 5 Live and the World Service.
The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Mirror, and The Baghdad Times have all covered Paul’s multifarious expeditions. He has also been featured in The Sunday Times’ popular ‘Life In The Day’ column.
